Kitchen/breakfast room

I bought this home because it had great bones but needed a lot of work, and as a designer/remodeler, I could make it beautiful. I remodeled the kitchen with Brookhaven cabinets, a large island and porcelain countertops.  I painted the island cabinets hunter green and added waterfalls on both sides . I bought white leather bar stools with gold metal so we could eat at the island if we wanted to, gold pendants and gold hardware. The hunter green cabinets match the rug in the family room and the antique pine breakfast room furniture soften the overall look

Contemporary Royden Oaks  Kitchen Remodel

The client asked me to redesign and remodel the kitchen/breakfast room/ family room, remove the wall between the kitchen and the family room to create one room, create a mud room out of the room adjacent to the kitchen that was the entrance to the house from the garage and the backyard, furnish the entire kitchen and family room, fix the master bathroom shower and change the daughter's bathroom shower to a tub. We gutted the entire kitchen, removed and replaced all the cabinets including the large out of style peninsula. We removed a kitchen window which impeded our symmetrical kitchen cabinet design layout to be able to install a large Blue Star cooktop/range in the center of the kitchen which became the kitchen focal point. We added a large 5' deep by 9' wide island incorporating a sink, dishwasher, trash/recycling bins, spice rack, tray slot and lots of storage under the countertop overhang which we painted dark blue, and built white symmetrical cabinets around the cooktop which included a sub zero fridge on one end and a glass china cabinet on the other. We replaced the Saltillo tile floors with wood floors that matched the wood in the rest of the house, which were all sanded and stained a natural color to lighten up the entire space and removed the wall between the kitchen and the family room which required an 18' beam, to open the space so it could entertain 100 people. Isn't it lovely.

Contemporary West U Kitchen Remodel

We totally gutted this kitchen, removed the wall between the kitchen and family room, squared off the kitchen, remodeled the entire kitchen with new cabinets and new larger island, waterfall quartzite countertops and backsplash, new appliances, new lighting (pendants over island, breakfast room light and undercabinet lighting> We also replaced some wood in the flooring and then sanded and stained all the wood floors in the house a natural color and painted the paint grade kitchen cabinets white and stained the stain grade island a natural color.

Contemporary West University Houston Highrise Penthouse

We totally redesigned and refurnished this fabulous open planned  West University Houston High Rise Penthouse family room /breakfast room/dining room adjacent to the kitchen to create a fabulous large yet cozy haven of refuge atop this West University high rise. The blue velvet sofa is casual and inviting yet elegant. We used the same soft blue and white patterened fabric on the breakfast room/dining room chairs and the family room chairs and sofa pillows to unite the 2 spaces. The beautiful wool and silk contemporary rug anchors the family room space and adds another touch of elegance to the space.

Transitional Living Room/Family Room/Study

I helped this lovely couple design and remodel several areas on their home, including their family room, several of their bedrooms including their primary bedroom and their guest room, their living/study/library room, their home office and their 2nd living room. We built custom cabinets in the family room and the living/study/library room and redesigned their family room fireplace. We wallpapered numerous rooms and also replaced many of the fans and light fixtures and added numerous recessed cans to provide more light in the home. We are still working on it! Don't these rooms look fabulous!

We demoed and totally remodeled the kitchen covering over a window to make the cabinet layout symmetrical with tall cabinets at both ends and 1 window with a sink below it in the center. We installed all new cabinets with an appliance garage at one end and a mud room cabinet to house the coats, backpacks, shoes, computers, Ipads and phones including lots of usb ports to charge those computers and Ipads and phones at the other end'. We added a large island and installed beautiful white Macassar quartzite countertops on the island and all the countertops and used gray subway tiles on the backsplash! We painted the cabinets white and purchased Serena & Lily barstools to complement the backsplash. We also totally remodeled the powder bathroom with a new vanity, new toilet, new vanity light and mirror and new navy blue walls! We also sanded and refinished the wood floors throughout the house!

This is my own HOUSTON TX kitchen that I just remodeled again adding my favorite

This is my own kitchen -3 years ago, I remodeled this kitchen replacing all the cabinets using drawers vs doors and adding many cool features such as a spice pullout and a custom vent hood. I also replaced all the appliances using Bosch ovens and dishwasher, a new faucet and insta hot and a Samaung flex fridge, replaced the floors with grey wood look vinyl tongue and groove planks and redid all the lighting adding a chandelier, LED downlights and undeecabinet lighting. I disnt replace the countertops them because I didnt like ant of the quartz that was popular then amd I wanted to use quartz. Now 3 years later I found the pwefect quartz slabs and redid my countertops and backsplash and added a quartz waterfall on the peninsula. I also changed out the burners adding an induction  cooktop and changed out the sink. I cpuldnt be happier!

We remodeled the entire home-gutted and remodeled the kitchen, installing a huge island topped with 2 quartz slabs,  all the bathrooms, redesigned the family room, playroom and 2 offices, painted the entire home, sanded and redid the wood floors and installed new lighting! Isn't it lovely!

This home flooded in Hurricane Harvey so we had to cut out 4' of sheetrock throughout the entire downstairs, then gut the entire downstairs cabinetry and flooring - and replace all the sheetrock, all the floors  all the cabinetry then replace all the furniture in their home... We replaced all the dining room furniture with a black table and black chairs with white upholstery and a black bench with black and white striped fabric, a black china cabinet, gray walls, and a fabulous chandelier

The client purchased this Bellaire home and was out of town when we redesigned and remodeled the kitchen, family room, 2 home offices, upstairs game room, painted the entire home and sanded, stained and polyurethaned all the wood floors a warm soft light brown color. That was phase 1. Then they moved in and we remodeled all the bathrooms in phase 2.

We completely remodeled this West University house including the kitchen adding all new appliances and a large 8' by 11' island with  seating for 4 and lots of storage. Here is a photo of the island countertop - we used Calacutta Gold Quartz and it turned out fabulous. We also sanded and stained all the wood floors a light color and remodeled all the bathrooms. Unfortunately, the client would not let me take photos of the house once it was done due to Covid-19 so I only have these few photos taken by my countertop subcontractor before we painted this fabulous kitchen

We gutted this kitchen and totally remodeled it with new white custom kitchen cabinets that extend all the way up to the ceiling  which include lovely LED lit cabinets with glass doors all around the kitchen at the top, a large kitchen island with a cooktop, professional stainless steel appliances, white quartz countertops and even a lovely custom shade for the kitchen window

Craftsman style home in Hancock Park Los Angeles

Here are the contemporary style kitchen and master bathroom that I just did in a Craftsman style  Hancock Park home in LA. 
We totally gut and remodeled the kitchen. We used a granite that looks like Carrara marble to have the "Carrara marble" look that is so popular today, but be a bit more durable especially with regard to spilling red wine, oil, vinegar, lemon juice and tomato juice since the family has tiny children who might spill on the countertop and the mom actually cooks meals in the kitchen, and long narrow dark gray textured subway tiles combined with white cabinets and top of the line appliances such as a Sub Zero fridge, Wolf burners/oven, a Bosch dishwasher and a Grohe faucet to create what my client thinks is a fabulous yet functional kitchen.  We chose an island in a dark wood finish for contrast that has seating for the kids so they have an eat in kitchen. 
We totally gut and remodeled the master bathroom, changing the doorways to add both a large tub and a large shower. We used Carrara marble on the countertops and tub surround,  and porcelain faux Carrara marble tiles in the shower to have the "Carrara marble" look but again be more durable as porcelain is a man made material that doesn't need to be resealed regularly to not have moisture issues the way marble does. For contrast, we used gray 12" by 24" tiles on the floor. We made cabinets 36" high for 6'4" husband.

Post Flood Pictures

This home was under contract but that contract fell apart when the home flooded during Hurricane Harvey. We were asked to remodel the home and put it back together. This home had an older kitchen and a sunken living room and dining room. We raised the floor boards to all be the same level, then installed new solid wood floors. We updated the kitchen and installed new kitchen cabinets with Shaker doors, quartz countertops and backsplash and new appliances. We also installed new cabinets in the wine room and powder bath and painted the entire space. it looks fabulous and sold on the day that it went on the market. The client was so very happy with what we did!
